Have you ever heard of the “Landlord Returning Battalions”? (地主还乡团) If not, here’s a little story that will make you 100% support the Maoist “landlord purges” of the early Communist revolution if you didn’t already.

Notice how fiery the Chinese rhetoric has become? Xi Jinping was calling the USA “reactionaries” and “imperialists” last week, the MFA is now referring to them as “Bandits” This sort of language hasn’t really been used since Nixon normalised relations with Mao in 1972.
The Chinese people will never forget their national shame and will never allow those bandits to bully and plunder China again.

For reference, I fully support and endorse the Chinese using this fiery rhetoric. I just think the switch in tone almost overnight is a very interesting development.

3. DPRK - America remains salty that they lost the Korean War to the DPRK, USSR and China. Grants the DPRK the status of “enemy” 4. Iran - refuses to be another lynchpin of US hegemony in West Asia, thus is a target and designated Enemy. Also vehemently opposes Outpost Israel

5. Cuba - America hates that this little island has resisted their imperial overthrow attempts for decades. Breeds Gusanos to keep the propaganda alive and kicking. 6. Syria - Refused to collapse when the USA sent its “Arab Spring” fascist wave throughout West Asia.

7. Vietnam (less so) - The USA still hates Vietnam really, but they initially saw the utility of using the Vietnamese distrust of China against them, and forming another outpost. When VN refused to comply, they returned to the Axis of Evil

8. Serbia - refused to fall under the control of the USA despite joining EU. Following the collapse of Yugoslavia, USA thought they’d “won” Serbia over; quickly discovered they were wrong. Serbia remains stalwart friend of Russia and China within Europe.

9. Any former socialist or soviet state that refuses to join the “Rules Based Order” - many of the -Stan countries and Belarus fall under this umbrella. 10. Any West Asian state that won’t be couped/used as a Petrol Station for the USA: not previously mentioned Examples are Iraq

, Pakistan (especially considering their close relations with China) and Afghanistan. Afghan had a particularly tough battle with the USA that they ultimately won. And then there’s the TRUE NEUTRAL states - countries who’s economies are too big to truly oppose, but don’t side..

With the USA on matters of foreign or domestic policy, unless it genuinely benefits their own geostrategic interests: They are known as the BRICS states. Brazil, Russia (already mentioned - enemy), India (too useful to contain China / Pakistan), China (already mentioned - enemy)

And South Africa. 2 of the BRICS states have already been classed as “enemies”, India will likely fall into this category too if it ever obtains an Anti-US government. Brazil and South Africa are still rising; when they reach their apexes they’ll probably become enemies too.

Degrees of control the USA holds over their respective pieces of the empire: > Puppet States: extreme control. Can usually dictate foreign policy completely, and can usually directly interfere in domestic policy if it isn’t to the US’s liking. > Vassal States: less control…

beholden almost entirely to US foreign policy but has a large amount of domestic political “freedom” - the USA will make noises if vassals start getting too rowdy though, like when the U.K. did BREXIT which was entirely against US policy in Europe. USA threatened U.K. directly

> Outposts: as long as their main purpose (opposing the designated Enemy) remains intact, the Outposts have a lot of freedom, and will almost always enjoy US support for their actions no matter what. Examples: 1. Israel can openly commit genocide and the USA will defend it.

2. Taiwan was allowed to be an open national-capitalist dictatorship against the Will of the USA’s “liberal world order”, because it opposed Red China. As China got stronger, the USA tightened the noose on Taiwan and imposed the DPP greens to bring it “back in line”

3. The Ukraine can have literally millions of Nazi soldiers donning Totenkopf and Swastika and the USA doesn’t even pretend to care. The USA also voted against a UN motion against Nazism at the behest of their Anti-Russia outpost

4. The occupied south of Korea has a lot of domestic political freedoms and the ability to have a bonapartist system today as its geographic position / utility vs. DPRK is too useful. South of Korea can also have good(ish) relations with China as its purpose isn’t to oppose China
