A long-held priority for those of us living in East Portland, last year we reached an agreement to transfer 82nd Ave from State to City control. I was honored to have been a part of the coalition of elected leaders & community advocates who finally got this done.

This transfer of control also includes significant funding: - $80 million from the State - $70 million from ODOT - $35 million from PBOT.

This historic transfer and investment will make possible the transformative changes our community has been calling for on 82nd Avenue for decades.

We would not have accomplished this without community advocates calling attention to the long record of traffic violence on this high-crash corridor.

This was a truly collaborative effort that highlights the importance of diversity in representation for East Portland. which includes many of our most diverse neighborhoods.

I was downtown last Monday- there were plenty of tourists. Our house value increased by $40,000 in 2021 and we're in SE. New restaurants, florists and gift shops opening all over my neighborhood. Portland is far from a shithole. Touch grass every once in a while.
