There's people and then there's "people" who get to retain more money.
Clear hint from Kwasi Kwarteng that more tax cuts are on their way. “There is more to come. We have only been here for 19 days. I want to see, over the next year, people retain more of their money”.

A moment to be applauded. These explainers are a great testament to the best of public service broadcasting. Thanks @BBCRosAtkins and team!
This is a bit of moment for all of us who've worked on our explainers and on OS for the last few years. We're working hard to try and create something we hope you'll all find useful. Though, of course, only you can be the judge of that... On air from October 20.

Looks like we're in for a bumper quince harvest this year. Does anyone have ideas for using and preserving apart from jam, jelly and membrillo? Savoury applications are particularly welcome.

The chair of Hong Kong's journalists' union, Ronson Chan was due to leave for the UK to start his @risj_oxford fellowship later this month. He has now been charged after being arrested as he was about to cover a story a couple of weeks ago.
RSF calls on the #HongKong government to drop all charges against Ronson Chan, chairman of @HKJA_Official and former editor of the now defunct Stand News, who was asked today to report to Mong Kok police station to be formally charged for allegedly obstructing a police officer.
